About Tidy Mind Living
Hi, I’m Heather, and I’m so glad you found your way here.
If your brain feels cluttered, your home feels chaotic, and you’ve ever whispered to yourself “Why can’t I just stay on top of things?” at 2am while staring at a pile of laundry… you’re definitely in the right place.
I created Tidy Mind Living because I know what it’s like to have an ADHD brain that wants a peaceful home but gets overwhelmed by all the “shoulds” and perfect systems that just don’t work for minds like ours.
This isn’t about having it all together. It’s about finding what actually works when your brain moves fast, forgets things, and sometimes needs to start over. Again.
Why I Started This Blog
I’ve been there. You know that spiral where a messy room makes your thoughts feel jumbled, which makes even loading the dishwasher feel impossible? Where you want a calm, organized space but every organizing system you try lasts about a week before you’re back to square one?
That was my life for years.
I started Tidy Mind Living not because I figured it all out, but because I was tired of feeling like I was failing at something as basic as keeping my space tidy. I needed routines that worked with my ADHD brain instead of against it.
This blog became my place to share the small victories, the systems that actually stuck, and the gentle resets that helped me get back on track without the guilt spiral.
What You’ll Find Here
Think of this as your digital safe space for getting your life together, one small step at a time.
Here’s what I share:
Simple cleaning routines that you can start even when you’re running on empty and everything feels hard
Decluttering systems that make decisions easier, not more overwhelming (because decision fatigue is real)
ADHD-friendly resets for those days when you need to start fresh without beating yourself up
Visual reminders and habits designed for brains that forget, get distracted, and need things to be obvious
Real encouragement for the messy, imperfect journey of creating a home that supports your well-being
My Approach
You won’t find rigid schedules or complicated systems here. I don’t believe in perfect morning routines or homes that look like magazine spreads.
Instead, I focus on small wins, flexible tools, and strategies that honor the reality of ADHD life. Some days you’re on fire and can tackle everything. Other days, putting one load of laundry away counts as a victory. Both are valid.
Everything here is Pinterest-friendly because let’s be honest, that’s where most of us go when we need a spark of motivation or a fresh perspective. (And yes, Pinterest is where almost all my readers find me!)
If you’ve ever felt behind, messy, or like you “should have figured this out by now,” I want to tell you something important: there’s nothing wrong with your brain. You just haven’t had tools designed for the way you actually think and live.
A Bit About Me
I’m not a minimalist guru or a professional organizer. I don’t have my life perfectly together, and my house isn’t always Instagram-ready.
I’m just someone with ADHD who got tired of feeling like I was drowning in my own space. I love color-coded systems that make sense, baskets that hide the chaos, and any routine that takes 15 minutes or less.
I believe in progress over perfection, and I’ve learned that a peaceful life starts with a tidy mind, not just a tidy home. Sometimes that means accepting the mess and focusing on what matters most that day.
